Associations representing different ethnic communities in Delaware, such as the Hispanic, Indian, Korean, Chinese, Italian, Nepalese, and Filipino communities celebrated the “Multi-Cultural Festival” on Sat, 10/07/2017; 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Glasgow high school, 1901, S College Ave, Newark DE – 19702.
The program started at 1 PM with a Multicultural Unity March with the participation of local authorities such as New Castle County Executive Matthew Meyers, New Castle County Police Chief Col. Vaughn Bond, and others.
There was an interactive program at the gym, where the attendees had a chance to see and learn how to dance some ethnic and folkloric dances. Also, there were displays of traditional arts, crafts, costumes and recipes; a bazaar with clothes, jewelry and other merchandise on sale.
In the auditorium, there were several stage performances featuring dance performances by various ethnic groups. Delicious Italian, Hispanic and Indian food was available at the school cafeteria.
This event was crafted in partnership with the Indian, Chinese, Italian, Korean, Nepalese, and Filipino associations to celebrate diversity, explore and learn different cultures.
