The UD Partnership for Healthy Communities officially launched this week with the goal of helping to connect University of Delaware faculty, staff, researchers and students with sustainable efforts to provide all Delawareans with access to optimal health resources. There’s a great deal of work being done from Wilmington to Milford to advance health promotion and reduce health inequities, particularly in areas marked by social and economic disadvantage. From neighborhood gardens and early childhood education programs to community dinners and bike-friendly paths, advocates across the state are creating opportunities to positively influence health, reduce risks and improve outcomes. As always, more can be done to strengthen these connections and reduce barriers to effective outreach and care. Together, we can move Delaware in a healthier direction.
